Katherine Gallardo is the principal and founder of her New York based interior design firm, Katherine Gallardo Interiors. A firm believer that a beautiful environment can enrich the lives of its inhabitants, Katherine works closely with clients to create a home that reflects who they are and how they desire to live. By mixing classic and contemporary furniture with one-of-a-kind antique and vintage pieces, she maximizes beauty, function, and comfort while tailoring each project to the client, architecture, and environment.
Katherine, a New York native, has roots in South America and speaks fluent Spanish. An avid traveler and photographer, she loves to explore the world in search of phenomenal food, dramatic landscapes, and exquisite architecture and interiors. A lover of historic homes, museums, and flea markets, Katherine draws inspiration from the past while creating interiors with a modern sensibility.
After studying interior design at the Pratt Institute, Katherine began her career with Kemble Interiors, immersing herself in Celerie Kemble’s whimsical world of decorating. She then designed bold and colorful homes with Anthony Baratta and later went on to create elegant, sophisticated interiors with David Kleinberg Design Associates, prior to launching her own firm.
